(ANSA) – LONDRA, 17 LUG – A conference on ‘Circular Agriculture for a Resilient Planet’ was held in London at the headquarters of British American Tobacco (Bat), organized by the Consulate General of Italy in collaboration with Bat, University College London (Ucl) and Tecno International. The event highlighted Italy’s leadership role in the development of sustainable and regenerative agricultural models based on biodiversity, responsible innovation and the enhancement of local knowledge.
The heart of the initiative was the launch of the white paper “Circular Economy in Agriculture: Stories from Italy,” edited by Ucl’s Professor Paolo Taticchi, which documents some of the most innovative experiences of Italian companies: from Quintosapore’s biomimetic agriculture, to JustOnEarth’s environmental intelligence, Zero Farms’ vertical and modular systems, to the circular economy model presented by CNH through its subsidiary Bennamann Energy, for the production of agricultural biomethane.
In his speech, Consul General Domenico Bellantone emphasized how the initiative fits into the framework of green diplomacy promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with an approach that aims to enhance Italian excellence in the field of sustainability and fosters dialogue and collaboration between institutions, businesses and the scientific world at the international level. And the conference confirmed Italy’s role as an “open-air laboratory” for globally replicable solutions in agribusiness.
