Poland, Amb.Franchetti Pardo inaugurates exhibition on Giorgio Morandi

(ANSA) – VARSAVIA, 18 LUG – A first exhibition in Poland dedicated to Bolognese artist Giorgio Morandi was opened yesterday in Warsaw at the National Gallery of Art “Zacheta” by Italian Ambassador Luca Franchetti Pardo. The exhibition traces Morandi’s entire career, from his beginnings in the 1920s to his full maturity, offering the Polish public a unique opportunity to get closer to his unmistakable artistic vision.
The exhibition includes paintings, etchings, watercolors and drawings, highlighting not only the artist’s technical and stylistic evolution, but also his deep connection with the great Italian and European painting tradition, from Giotto and Piero della Francesca to Cรฉzanne and Corot.
At the opening, Ambassador Franchetti Pardo highlighted how Morandi embodies Italian cultural identity through a poetics characterized by measure and reflection, capable of harmonizing tradition and modernity. He also stressed the relevance and uniqueness of the artist’s language, which invites us to observe the world with renewed attention and awareness. The opening was also attended by Agnieszka Pindera, director of the Zachฤ™ta Gallery, and Lorenzo Balbi, director of the Bologna Museum of Modern Art and the Morandi Museum, as well as curator of the exhibition. The exhibition, organized under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Poland, is organized in cooperation with the Morandi Museum as well as with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw will be open to the public until October 5, 2025.
