Italian technology in Kenya and Tanzania, mission concluded

(ANSA) – NAIROBI, 19 LUG – The promotional initiative “Technology Days Kenya and Tanzania,” organized by Ice-Agenzia, in collaboration with the National Federation of Electronic and Electrotechnical Industries (Anie), for the benefit of Italian companies in the sector an itinerant mission aimed at getting to know the two markets and conducting B2B meetings between Italian and African companies, concluded in Dar Es Salaam in the presence of the Italian ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Coppola.
The initiative generated 370 interactions between Italian companies and was attended by 120 Kenyan and Tanzanian operators, who were joined during the Nairobi leg, opened by the vicar of the Italian ambassador to Kenya, Lorenza Gambacorta, by buyers also from Ethiopia, Rwanda and Uganda Kenya and Tanzania, identified among the target countries of the Mattei Plan for Africa, represent strategic markets for sustainable industrial innovation.
Kenya is among Africa’s leaders in the use of renewable energy, covering more than 75 percent of the national electricity mix.
The government has initiated ambitious plans to further develop geothermal, solar, wind, green hydrogen and storage systems. The infrastructure sector, with an estimated value of $15.6 billion, is booming thanks to government programs such as “Affordable Housing,” designed to fill a housing need of 150,000 units per year.
“The mission confirmed that even in this part of the world there is a need for the innovation that Italy can offer,” said Giuseppe Manenti, director of Ice agency in Nairobi, responsible for Kenya, Tanzania and Eritrea, “which was verified by the Italian companies present during these days, particularly appreciating the level of professionalism and competence of the counterparts met. The premises are therefore largely positive so that business collaborations between Kenyan and Tanzanian companies will soon materialize with Italian ones, which will be able to count on the support of the Network of Ice Offices in the world for their internationalization actions.
