(ANSA) – SKOPJE, 28 LUG – Extraordinary success of the Italian delegation at the European Youth Olympic Festival (Eyof), held last week in Skopje and Kumanovo. This edition,” the Italian Embassy reported in a note, “saw the Azzurri achieve unprecedented results, both in the number of gold medals and the total number of medals won. In fact, our athletes brought home 19 gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze medals, placing them at the top of the standings with as many as 50 medals. Results of great pride and satisfaction for Italian youth sports. Elisa Santoni, representative of the National Olympic Committee and head of the delegation of the Azzurri to North Macedonia, wished these young athletes “that they keep their passion alive, continue to work hard and one day find themselves on the most important stages.” The triumphs of the promising young Azzurri portend a bright future, where successes in sports will bear witness to Italian excellence. As has been the case in the past, the hope is that the young athletes victorious at the Eyof can crown the Olympic dream in the future.
