(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 29 – A general practitioner from Saponara, and the former mayor of the Messina-area town Aldo Panarello, was attacked yesterday morning in his private office by a man who violently punched him, according to gazzettadelsud.it.
The victim was admitted to the Messina Polyclinic Hospital where he will undergo maxillofacial surgery.
The Carabinieri are investigating the case.
The attack, the website recalls, occurred in the same office where, on August 1, 1995, the attacked doctor’s father-in-law, Vittorio Meli, also a doctor, was killed by a patient who believed his condition had worsened due to improper treatment.
