Ecuador, Ambassador Davoli on institutional mission in Manta

(ANSA) – MANTA, 21 LUG – The Ambassador of Italy to Ecuador, Giovanni Davoli, carried out an institutional mission in Manta, one of the country’s main cities in the province of Manabí, also known as the “Gateway to the Pacific.” The ambassador had a meeting with a group of local entrepreneurs with ties to Italy.
Manta is one of the country’s main ports, from which a number of products are exported to the Italian market, especially fisheries. Present at the meeting were the governor of the province of Manabí, Leonardo Orlando, who is of Italian origin, and the mayor of Manta, Marciana Valdivieso.
Ambassador Davoli announced on the occasion the establishment of a Vice Consulate in Manta to better assist the thousands of compatriots residing in the city of nearly 300,000 inhabitants and develop trade relations between Italy and Ecuador.
In addition, he outlined the results of Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa’s recent visit to Italy, referring in particular to the Migration Agreement signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and plans to increase Italian support in the fight against drug trafficking from Ecuador to Europe.
During his presence in Manta, Ambassador Davoli attended the international sports event, “IronMan Ecuador,” handing out prizes to the winners.
