(ANSA) – ROMA, 23 AGO – Held last night at Ahmedabad’s ‘079’ Gallery, the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Jyot’ (Fire) by Italian artist Roberto Rup Paolini. The exhibition, the first of its kind dedicated to contemporary Italian art in Gujarat, was supported by the Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai and marks a significant step in the cultural dialogue between Italy and India.
Consul General Walter Ferrara emphasized the deep connection between the two cultures, which share a thousand-year history of exchanges and the powerful symbolism of the element of fire, the central theme of Paolini’s research.
“We are honored to present in Ahmedabad, a Unesco heritage city with a vibrant cultural fabric,” said the consul, “the works of Roberto Rup Paolini. Fire, the primordial element of creation and purification, is an ideal bridge between our traditions: this exhibition is more than an exhibition, it is the beginning of a new artistic bridge.” In fact, the exhibition is the first part of a broader artistic exchange promoted by the Consulate General, creating a direct link between the House of Artists in Milan and Gallery 079 in Ahmedabad. The project, realized thanks to the curatorial vision of Caterina Corni and Giulia Restifo, will see a first new development in October with an Indian painter taking part in an artist residency program in Milan.
