(ANSA) – ROMA, 06 AGO – An exhibition dedicated to Pino Pascali, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava and the Italian Embassy, with the collaboration of Frittelli Arte Contemporanea and the Archivio dell’Opera Grafica di Pino Pascali in Florence, opened at the Civic Gallery in Zilina, Slovakia.
The exhibition, curated by Simone Frittelli, has a particular focus on works for advertising, created by the Apulian artist, who died in 1968, between 1959 and 1967. These paintings, in which the playful component that characterized Pascali emerges, gradually gained a place of high interest and wide consideration in the art world, comparable to that of his pictorial and sculptural works. Marcello Colitti’s photographic images of the artist in his studio complete the exhibition.
The exhibition, part of the initiatives of the 18th edition of the Italian festival in Slovakia ‘Dolce Vitaj,’ is held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the artist, whose works have become part of the collections of leading Italian and global museum institutions, from the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
