(ANSA) – ROMA, 03 AGO – Italian Ambassador to Riyadh, Carlo Baldocci, visited the Saudi province of Aseer, where he was received by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, governor of the province. The meeting provided an opportunity to initiate a concrete and wide-ranging dialogue on strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration between Italy and the province, particularly through synergies with local development authorities, King Khalid University and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This is a path of collaboration in line with the broader goals of strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Saudi Arabia enshrined in the strategic partnership launched last January during Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s visit to the Kingdom.
Ambassador Baldocci expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome given to him and his admiration for the development trajectory undertaken by the province. During the visit, they discussed concrete initiatives aimed at strengthening relations between the Aseer province and Italy, including in areas such as restoration and archaeological cooperation, tourism, land development and university collaboration to make this important Saudi region one of the focuses of Italian engagement in the kingdom.
