(ANSA) – ROMA, 22 LUG – The Ambassador of Italy in Seoul, Emilia Gatto, met with Dr. Miyeon Kim, chairwoman of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
During the meeting, Dr. Kim praised the commitment at the global level of the Italian government in promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, and the efforts put in place, as G7 chair in 2024, to arrive at the promulgation of the ‘Solfagnano Charter’.
Ambassador Gatto and Dr. Kim agreed on a series of initiatives aimed at keeping the spirit and commitments of Solfagnano alive, through the organization in South Korea of workshops, seminars and projects aimed at raising awareness of the issue among Korean institutions and the public, and which will also focus on the fashion sector (the leading commodity sector of Italian exports to Korea) as a driver of inclusiveness.
