(ANSA) – RIO DE JANEIRO, 22 AGO – Rio de Janeiro’s renovated Piazza Italia, located next to Casa Italia, home of the Consulate General and the ItaliaNoRio Cultural Hub, will be inaugurated on October 11. The event will be officially unveiled on Sept. 1 at an event open to the public. The morning will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the finissage of the exhibition “Brutalist Italy: the art of concrete” and the announcement of the new exhibition “Cities on Stage,” dedicated to urban regeneration “made in Italy.” This will be followed by a breakfast and discussion on Italian architecture in Brazil, from Brutalism to the square redevelopment project. The protagonists of the meeting will be architect Olรญvia Argentini, of the Archea firm and designer of the square, and Cristina Monteiro, head of the municipal urban conservation department of the Municipality of Rio. Closing the event will be a guided tour of the construction site, a prelude to the inauguration in October and the opening of the new exhibition.
