Amb. Ranalli at funeral of accident victims Aug. 6 in Ghana

(ANSA) – ROMA, 16 AGO – Italy’s ambassador to Ghana, Laura Ranalli, along with representatives of the international diplomatic corps, attended, in Independence Square in Accra, the state funeral of the victims of the Aug. 6 helicopter crash in which, among others, Minister of Defense, Edward Omane Boamah, and Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, among others. During the interfaith ceremony, “words such as service, duty, dignity, dedication, and humility resonated to define and celebrate the lives of the ‘fallen heroes’ as they carried out their duties for the country,” the ambassador stressed.
The Ghanaian Foreign Ministry expressed its sincere appreciation for the closeness of the diplomatic corps at this time. The funeral honor was delivered by Ghana’s President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, John Dramani Mahama.
