(ANSA) – ATENE, 06 AGO – Italy’s Ambassador to Athens Paolo Cuculi met with the new Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum, Athanasios Plevris, to further explore aspects of cooperation between Italy and Greece in the area of migration policies.
In confirming that effective management of migration flows is a priority shared by the two countries,” a statement read, “prospects for cooperation in both bilateral and EU spheres were examined in the areas of, among other things, maritime and land border control, dialogue with migrants’ countries of origin and transit, and legal entry channels, in light of the challenges that characterize the Mediterranean basin in particular.
