(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 5 – The Serie A league and Italian professional footballers union AIC on Tuesday reached an agreement for a possible reduction in the salaries of players of teams that are relegated to Serie B.
It is already possible for teams to cut players salaries in the cases in which there is an agreement on this.
Under the new collective agreement, the players’ salaries would be cut by 25% in the case of relegation if there is no such deal.
The new rule will only apply to contracts signed after the end of the summer transfer market, so after September 2. (ANSA).
