Another Italian held at Alligator Alcatraz

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 1 – Another Italian has been held at the ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ migrant-detention centre in Florida, the foreign ministry said on Friday.
Two other Italians were detained at the facility, which gets its name from the fact that it is surrounded by ‘alligator infested waters’ in the Everglades, for several days before being moved to another centre in the state, at Krome.
The ministry said on Thursday that one of those two, Fernando Eduardo Artese, has returned to Italy, while it is continues to follow the case of the other, Gaetano Cateno Mirabella Costa.
It said on Friday that it was working for the speedy repatriation of the third Italian to have entered ‘Alligator Alcatraz’, adding that it hopes this can come about within days.
